We, in the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas), strongly condemn the US for vetoing today a UN Security Council resolution calling for an immediate ceasefire, the withdrawal of the Zionist occupation forces from the Gaza Strip and the rescue of our people from the repercussions of the humanitarian catastrophe caused by the occupation under the US cover over months of the war, especially in northern Gaza.
The US administration once again demonstrates its direct involvement in the aggression against our people, acting as an accomplice in the killing of children and women and the complete destruction of civilian life in Gaza. The US is directly responsible, like the occupation, in the genocidal war and ethnic cleansing against our people.
We demand the US to stop this clumsy hostile policy if it truly seeks to end wars and achieve security and stability in the region, as we heard from the elected upcoming administration.
Additionally, we call on the international community to put an end to the US infringement on international will, which has resulted in wars, loss of life, destruction, and chaos both within the region and beyond.
